A central task that I added to my previous team was flushing out the written content on a website, making it concise and digestible, and organizing that information in the most user-friendly ways. Along with the written copy, I gave suggestions for design elements that were informed by the latest trends in web design.
Check out a couple of sitemaps I did while working for Arrowhead Design Group:
Eggs Up Grill
Hub City Animal Project
These sitemaps when approved by clients are translated in the web design process, including all of the written copy and link paths. Changing text on a published website is much more tricky that you think, so getting the sitemap correct and approved before the design process starts is vital for a smooth building process.
